earthquake

It was only a small reminder … this time! Living in Southern California means sooner or later we learn that even what appears like solid rock is in an illusion.  Fact is there were a lot more earthquakes in this region in the late 80’s and early 90’s when my kids were little.  Some say we are due, regardless we all need to be prepared.

I can still recall my first quake as a young mother with my small infant in my arms.  The thunderous rattle brings a dimension of sound vibration that adds to your already unbalanced semicircular canals.  But what struck me the most is how the hard wood floors of my first home became jello before my eyes.  It simply boggles the mind to see and feel what only moments before you knew to be a solid object become liquid particles underneath your feet.  The seismic cosmic wave, I suppose.  Reminding us that not only is our mental story fictitious, but even our senses do not represent the Truth.
