{"id":1730,"date":"2010-08-16T15:57:25","date_gmt":"2010-08-16T22:57:25","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.coolkarma.com\/dharma\/?p=1730"},"modified":"2010-08-16T17:07:08","modified_gmt":"2010-08-17T00:07:08","slug":"gaia-and-the-girl-hang-out-with-the-breath","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.karmabytes.net\/?p=1730","title":{"rendered":"Gaia and The Girl: Hang out with the Breath &#8230;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.coolkarma.com\/dharma\/wp-content\/uploads\/Gaia-and-the-Girl-ThumbNail.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-thumbnail wp-image-1736 alignleft\" title=\"Gaia and the Girl ThumbNail\" src=\"http:\/\/www.coolkarma.com\/dharma\/wp-content\/uploads\/Gaia-and-the-Girl-ThumbNail-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a>As an outgrowth of my novel <a href=\"http:\/\/inthelila.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">In The Lila<\/a> and the <a href=\"http:\/\/coolkarma.com\/dharma\/?cat=3\" target=\"_blank\">Gnani Chronicals<\/a> that have been percolating for the last few years \u2026 I have embarked on a new category for my Not So Shaggy Dog Stories called Gaia and The Girl.\u00a0 If it seems like I am pouring new wine into old skins \u2026 then let me assure you that I AM!\u00a0 There is forever, only ONE conversation.\u00a0 As we seek our own tail (tale) we amble about in a circle telling the same parable about <a href=\"http:\/\/spiritsinharmony.blogspot.com\/2008\/02\/two-monks-carry-woman.html\" target=\"_blank\">the two Zen monks who carried the geisha across the river<\/a>, or <a href=\"http:\/\/www.noogenesis.com\/pineapple\/Taoist_Farmer.html\" target=\"_blank\">the farmer whose son broke his leg on a wild horse<\/a>, or <a href=\"http:\/\/coolkarma.com\/dharma\/?p=5\" target=\"_blank\">the hairless dog who transmitted the dharma to the new puppy<\/a> (ok, that one is mine \ud83d\ude09<\/p>\n<p>No matter what words we choose, when it comes down to a conversation about the sacred we can not help but repeat ourselves and ultimately fail in trying to point to that which can not be spoken.\u00a0 So here I am, yet again with my wild images and imagination as I paint a picture this time in the 2D world of cyber-cartooning that speaks to what my heart sings.<\/p>\n<p>And let\u2019s face it \u2026 the world of Zen could use a few more women in the muddy waters.\u00a0 Gaia and the Girl contains the sacred enquiry into the nature of that which we are.\u00a0 Sometimes funny, often wide of the mark, this matriarchal archetype of conversations with God puts a little lipstick on the Buddha.\u00a0 Did I mix enough metaphors for you yet?<\/p>\n<p>Point blank \u2026 if you are looking for answers \u2026 Google has a world of data just ready for you to burry yourself alive.\u00a0 If on the other hand you are drawn to play in the lila \u2026 well then this might be just what your mind longs for.<\/p>\n<p>Deep breath \u2026. here we go.<br \/>\n<object classid=\"clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000\" width=\"660\" height=\"405\" codebase=\"http:\/\/download.macromedia.com\/pub\/shockwave\/cabs\/flash\/swflash.cab#version=6,0,40,0\"><param name=\"allowFullScreen\" value=\"true\" \/><param name=\"allowscriptaccess\" value=\"always\" \/><param name=\"src\" value=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/v\/rBz_HjnO7bY?fs=1&amp;hl=en_US&amp;color1=0x402061&amp;color2=0x9461ca&amp;hd=1&amp;border=1\" \/><param name=\"allowfullscreen\" value=\"true\" \/><\/object><\/p>\n<p>The Girl:\u00a0 This seems all a bit strange.<\/p>\n<p>Gaia:\u00a0 Is there an aspect of &#8220;Life&#8221; that is not strange to you?<\/p>\n<p>The Girl:\u00a0 Well no.\u00a0 I guess all of it is strange.\u00a0 But the sacred inquiry within the 2D world of cyber cartooning?\u00a0 What noble insight could possibly come of it?<\/p>\n<p>Gaia:\u00a0 If you are looking for answers, because in some way you think you are lacking sufficient information then you would do well to stop this nonsense now.\u00a0 Better to Google some string theory if it is science and data you are seeking.\u00a0 But if you want to simply pull upon the string to see what unravels &#8230; what better place than here where the illusion is clear and the Lila is right before your eyes.<\/p>\n<p>The Girl:\u00a0 So where do we begin?<\/p>\n<p>Gaia:\u00a0 What is the most important question?<\/p>\n<p>The Girl:\u00a0 I could say that I want to know God, or some other lofty new age recycled metaphor &#8230; but in truth &#8230; for ME what is most important is to end the suffering.\u00a0 Peace.\u00a0 I am looking to cultivate Peace within this body that is dysfunctional and this mind that spins stories even in the absence of an audience.<\/p>\n<p>Gaia:\u00a0 When you understand that the audience is never absent.\u00a0 As you apperceive the One that watches in silence &#8230; the Peace that you think you are searching FOR will become THAT which you ARE.<\/p>\n<p>The Girl:\u00a0 And until then?<\/p>\n<p>Gaia:\u00a0 There is no THEN &#8230; if you are already THAT which you are seeking &#8230; then there is no distance for you to travel in order to arrive home.<\/p>\n<p>The Girl:\u00a0 But in this moment, I feel light years away from the abiding awareness.<\/p>\n<p>Gaia:\u00a0 Understand that there is an investment a hook if you will for the conditioned mind to hold on to the story of &#8220;me&#8221;.\u00a0 But there are no chains that bind you to that seat where you have taken a stand.\u00a0 In this moment &#8230; just for now &#8230; feel the breath enter your nose and notice how your shoulders drop slightly as you let go.<\/p>\n<p>The Girl:\u00a0 yes.\u00a0 In one breath &#8230; there can be so much of a release.<\/p>\n<p>Gaia:\u00a0 Before you took that last breath &#8230; WHO was breathing on your behalf?<\/p>\n<p>The Girl: That which watches in silence.<\/p>\n<p>Gaia:\u00a0 Excellent.\u00a0 Until next time.\u00a0 Hang out with the breath and realize the Peace that is already always present.<\/p>\n<p>The Girl:\u00a0 I am always so grateful to be in the conversation.\u00a0 Gassho.<\/p>\n<p>Gaia:\u00a0 Gentle journeys.
