\"clean-sweep\"Sometimes the little<\/em> joys of life can be as small as a speck of dust that is brisked away into a pan at your feet.\u00a0 It was another good day<\/em> today, when my body felt relatively at peace and my mind thought it was long past due for a clean sweep!\u00a0 Granted it would have been easier to ask one of my non-orthostatically-challenged family members to take the broom and sweep my dust magnet of a bedroom floor.\u00a0 But it wasn’t about being efficient, after all taking my time doing anything is more about what I am doing<\/em> rather than the time<\/em> that I spend doing it.<\/p>\n

So I crawled down off of my bed and crouched on the floor.\u00a0 The little blue dust pan and hand held broom was conveniently tucked away underneath my bedside table.\u00a0 How convenient!\u00a0 Perhaps the universe was in agreement that we had reached DEFCON 1<\/a> by way of the allergen alert.\u00a0 A quick glance around the room to plot my strategic path and I was underway.\u00a0 Slowly creeping, crouch by crouch, sweeping and sliding around the pseudo hard wood floors.\u00a0 My dogs were excited to have me up and about, though seemingly terrified as I would gather up their puppy toys in what must have appeared a code 459<\/a>.<\/p>\n

In my younger high-tech days my idea of housekeeping was to write a check to the agency or individual who was helping me with the house.\u00a0 In fact each of us, after I had to leave my livelihood, has had to learn what it means to keep a home tidy … ok maybe not tidy but at least sanitary to the extent it is bug and rodent free!\u00a0 After all I do have two adolescents still living at home and clutter seems to be a genetic trait to those growing years.<\/p>\n

I took my time around the room and stayed present to all of the debris and dust bunnies being gathered.\u00a0 My mind wandered only briefly to wonder why we didn’t have a recycle plan for dust as we do for paper and plastics?\u00a0 We must be able to make something useful from dust.\u00a0 Lawn mulch?\u00a0 Plaster mix?\u00a0 Insulation material?\u00a0 As you can judge by the\u00a0 quantity alluded, it had indeed been a long time since I had last swept!<\/p>\n

I know it is a little thing, and certainly not deserving of a fan fare.\u00a0 But hey, I can now turn on my FAN without concern of starting the big dust bowl of 2009.\u00a0 So this morning I was able to make a clean sweep.\u00a0 Maybe if Grace willing later today I can take out the trash!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
