By design, it is what minds do.\u00a0 The problem of course is not the nature of the mind, but the belief that somehow the mental concepts define what you are.<\/p>\nI remember a few years back as I was dealing with another strange new diagnosis, that I asked my husband through tear filled eyes … “Why?!\u00a0 Why is this happening to me?\u00a0 I take such good care of myself.\u00a0 I eat well, I meditate, I don’t smoke, drink or do drugs.\u00a0 Why do I get such strange diseases?”\u00a0 He answered with a smile concealed by his beard but felt in his intonation, “It is BECAUSE you take such good care that the ordinary ailments don’t stand a chance.”\u00a0 His words echoed along the curves of my hippocampus this morning, as we drove to the Doctor’s office to once again embark on a new symptom that was literally taking over my body inch by inch!<\/p>\n
You would think after so many years of bizarre symptoms and unheard of syndromes that I would have accepted this mission statement to explore strange new worlds and boldly go where no one has gone before.\u00a0 But the fact is despite all of my Zen, I am still illogical when it comes to this voyage of space and time.<\/p>\n
It’s one thing to understand on an intellectual level that our story of who we are is a conceptual illusion.\u00a0 But when we are in the throes of a body reaction, the neural rut of our conditioned insular cortex seems to go on auto-pilot and we are once again locked into our habitual patterns.<\/p>\n

Pity me?\u00a0 No!\u00a0 Pityriasis!\u00a0 The good news from the Doctor today is that the skin condition is called Pityriasis Rosea.\u00a0 It is self-limiting and will resolve on its own in a matter of 6-8 weeks.\u00a0 Whoo hoo!!\u00a0 So I guess the only bikini I’ll be wearing this summer will be on Yoville – where creating the story of your life is the name of the game!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
