Don’t Count Me Out

We were delighted that all of our koi and fancy goldfish made it to the new house without casualty this winter.  Indeed, almost all of our seedlings and established potted plants also survived their relocation and most have been thriving this spring.  All except the rosemary bush, which somehow got set out of the perimeter of any automatic sprinkler and we never did notice in all of our new-house-to-dos that are still getting done.  So we pushed it aside knowing we’d use the pot for another transplant when the time came.

But as dead as that rosemary bush appeared to be … we were shocked to see some green beginning to peak thru the brown and brittle branches.  Not even new growth … but from the inside out as if touched by magic, the herb is slowly coming back from all-but-dead.

In my always a metaphor mine, it’s like Nature’s Inspirational Meme.  Just when you think the show is over, even after you have given up hope.  Sometimes … sometimes Life finds a way to turn an impossible situation around.
