12 Years Ago This Day
The grainy old video of when I first set eyes on Monks is perhaps my favorite movie and I watch it in it’s entirety every anniversary of that day. This year marks a dozen years that Mr. Monks has been by my side in the real world. And it still overwhelms me at times just how lucky I am. They say all relationships are hard, and we certainly have hard times but for as much as we each are committed to each other’s happiness we put in the work every day to make it work. I like looking back at all of our adventures. Which may sound odd, as a housebound and chronically ill person to have movie memories when you never go past your backyard. But we didn’t leave the virtual world when we cross the real world threshold. We still live and play as our 3D avatars, and we still have the occasional date night at a disco. But mostly our day is filled with small things and if not Kodachrome moments then certainly cell phone worthy snapshots. So in light of our baker’s dozen anniversary (as we met a year before he came to SoCal) I remixed some of our old memories, put our soundtrack on it from our “wedding song” and made a small thank you for my husband who makes my small world simply spectacular. Te amo, guapo ♥
